Introduction

For the first time in the history of Central Saint Martins, (In)Visible Processes showcases the work of 12 PhD researchers who have recently completed their doctoral thesis. With one of the largest PhD cohorts at the University of the Arts London, CSM is at the forefront of research in the context of art and design.

On display are the tools, processes and outcomes of research from a wide range of disciplines, including photography, ceramics, textile engineering and social-ly engaged practices. This exhibition aims to demystify PhD research and bring it into the public-facing Lethaby Gallery. Supported by a rich programme of events and workshops, (In)Visible Processes is an invitation to explore the multiple forms research takes and how knowledge can be produced.
